S&P 500 Futures Down Today and Bitcoin Tests $70 Support
Tuesday, June 2, 2026 – The US financial market opened Tuesday with widespread declines, pressured by geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and expectations of US economic data.
S&P 500 futures are down 0,27%, trading at 7.593,00 points., signaling strong caution right at the opening of the New York stock exchanges.
Following the decline, Dow Jones futures are down 0,34%, to 50.959,00 points, while Nasdaq futures are down 0,33%, trading at 30.464,25 points.
The Russell 2000 small-cap index is down 0,27% at 2.901,80 points, while the VIX volatility index is up 4,77% at 16,05 points.
Commodities are trading mixed, with gold up 0,98% at $4,550.50 and Brent crude oil down 0,82% at $94,20.
The current US president, Donald Trump, sought to reassure investors by stating that negotiations with Iran continue to progress rapidly.
According to the American leader, the nations only need to "resolve a few points" before reaching an agreement for the logistical flow of energy through the Strait of Hormuz.
Meanwhile, investors are awaiting US jobs reports to try and anticipate the Federal Reserve's next interest rate policy steps.
Cryptocurrency and Altcoin Market Today
Bitcoin is testing support at $70 after registering a 3,80% pullback, trading in the range of $70.261,17.
Ethereum (ETH) is trading at $1.981,67, while XRP is at $1,27, down almost 4% in the last few hours. The Solana network is also feeling the impact of liquidations, with its native token trading at $79,57 after a drop of almost 3%.
In contrast to large market capitalizations, specific assets are registering significant upward movements driven by internal capital flows. The LAB token became the main highlight of the day, trading at US$18,70 with a significant increase of almost 70% recently.
Another project operating independently of the overall market is Humanity H, trading at US$0,8087, up almost 30%.
