Morgan Stanley states that memory chip stocks will perform strongly in 2025 and continue to lead the market in 2026, but the firm believes this wave of robust performance is not yet over. Morgan Stanley says there is no quick solution to the memory shortage. This will sustain tight memory supply for two to three years. The shortage is most severe in DRAM, but NAND Flash is also affected. The firm believes both stocks can continue to outperform the market, as multiples based on recent forecasts remain reasonable, with large-scale stock buybacks possibly starting in 2027, specialized AI memory contract prices rising, and SanDisk’s penetration in the data center market increasing. Against this backdrop, the market is highly focused on new multi-year supply agreements. The firm argues long-term agreements should be regarded as a result—not a cause—of the “prolonged high growth” outlook, and they demonstrate that hyperscale enterprises intend to continue expanding memory purchases in the coming years and see commitments as essential to securing supply. The firm believes the market will reward such implied continuity, but its main focus remains supply and demand conditions.

BUZZ - JPMorgan downgrades HubSpot rating due to "uncertain outlook" amid recovery in revenue growth

On October 8, JPMorgan downgraded its rating for marketing software company HubSpot (HUBS.N) from “Overweight” to “Neutral,” and also lowered its price target from $268 to $240, which still represents a 23.6% upside from the previous trading day’s closing price. The report pointed out that the timeline for a recovery in revenue growth is “still unclear.” “Although HUBS shares have fallen by more than 40% so far this year, until there are clear signs that the growth slowdown has bottomed out, we do not expect to see renewed investor interest or a significant re-rating of the stock price,” said JPMorgan. Out of 37 brokerages, 13 rate the stock as “Buy” or higher, 23 as “Hold,” and 1 as “Sell”; the median price target is $250, according to Reuters compiled data. Including fluctuations on the day, the stock has declined by 45.2% year-to-date.
