Jonathan Gould, head of the US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, denied favoritism toward Trump during the World Liberty Financial banking license approval at a congressional hearing, and stated that the only political pressure came from the Democratic Party. The hearing also discussed the GENIUS Act stablecoin proposal, and the head of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation indicated a new proposal involving customer identification requirements for stablecoins would be introduced.
