Boeing wins a $2 billion satellite contract from the US Air Force

Boeing has secured a fixed-price incentive contract from the U.S. Air Force valued at up to $2 billion for the second phase of the Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) service life extension project. 2. The contract covers the design, development, construction, launch support, and on-orbit testing support for two MUOS satellites. Boeing won the contract over Lockheed Martin in a competitive procurement process. 3. The related work will take place in El Segundo, California, and is expected to be completed by September 30, 2035.
