Golden Ten Data reported on June 24 that Berenberg analysts wrote that, over the next three years, the UK banking sector's profit growth rate will outpace that of the broader market. This significant profit potential has not yet been reflected in the share prices of UK banks—even though there has been a recent rebound, these stocks remain undervalued. Barclays, Lloyds Bank, and NatWest remain “as attractive as ever, offering continuously improving returns supported by strong balance sheets.” The driving force behind profit growth will be banks converting floating deposit income into fixed-rate assets, thereby smoothing their net interest income. “This favorable factor will be sufficient to offset the impact of recent headwinds.”
