```htmlGolden Ten Data reported on June 25 that, according to the latest roadmap from grid operators, electricity demand from data centers will surge significantly over the next 25 years, with consumption on Australia’s main power grid set to nearly double by 2050. The Australian Energy Market Operator stated in its biennial Integrated System Plan that by 2050, data centers will account for nearly 10% of the basic electricity demand in the national power market, four times their current share. The report confirms that the lowest-cost solution is a power system based on renewable energy, connected via transmission and distribution networks, supplemented by energy storage and natural gas. Climate Change and Energy Minister Chris Bowen said, “Our plan is to provide cheaper, cleaner energy and leverage our domestic solar and wind resources to protect our grid from global fluctuations.”```
