Tools for Humanity executive accused of misappropriating millions of dollars in company funds to pump Worldcoin price
Odaily reported that Tools for Humanity, co-founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, has simultaneously launched two internal investigations led by external law firms. The investigations focus on alleged improper use of funds by executives and suspected violations related to its operations in Thailand. Executives at the company have been accused of approving payments of millions of dollars to a foreign company. These funds were not intended for legitimate business purchases or service fees, but rather to artificially inflate the market price of its cryptocurrency Worldcoin. Additionally, Tools for Humanity’s partner in Thailand is reportedly an internationally wanted suspect involved in a “pig-butchering” scam. Meanwhile, regulatory agencies in multiple countries have raised serious concerns about Tools for Humanity’s iris scanning and data collection practices.
