According to a16z crypto data, trading volume in prediction markets has reached record highs for three consecutive weeks, with last week's total market volume hitting $14.4 billion. At the beginning of the year, trading volume was between $5.5 billion and $6 billion, and a week ago it was $10 billion. Open interest rose to $1.6 billion, also reaching a new high for three consecutive weeks. Non-sports markets saw significant growth; last week, Kalshi and Polymarket had a combined trading volume of $3.6 billion, surpassing the total category size of the prediction market in 2023.
