The Ethereum Foundation (EF) has completed the final stage of a five-year funding commitment to Argot, an independent collective responsible for maintaining key Ethereum developer infrastructure, including the Solidity programming language.

The Ethereum Foundation has completed our five year agreement with @argotorg to support the development and maintenance of critical Ethereum infrastructure under a neutral and independent umbrella.

Under the agreement, around 4,938 stETH will be placed into two contracts managed through a 2-of-3 multi-signature wallet shared by Argot, the EF and a newly created Fail-Safe Committee (FSC), as noted by Argot.

Half of the funds will become available on July 1, 2026, with the remainder unlocking on July 1, 2027. The FSC will serve as an independent oversight and mediation body under the governance framework.

The funding is intended to support Argot’s work on Solidity and related projects spanning smart contract verification, debugging tools and language research.

Launched in late 2024, Argot is an independent, non-profit research and development collective established to provide a neutral home for Ethereum’s core software infrastructure, overseeing projects including the Solidity programming language and other open-source developer tools.

Will the Fed "continue raising interest rates"? Will the "tightening cycle" of the late 1980s be repeated?

The Citi report points out that the current macro environment is highly similar to the tightening cycle of 1988-1989, when the economy remained resilient and inflation pressures gradually accumulated, followed by a slowdown in economic activity before policies shifted to easing. During that tightening cycle, the Federal Reserve raised interest rates 16 times in a row.

Rare alliance of arch-rivals! Musk and Altman support Dario Amodei's call to "slow down AI globally"

Anthropic's Amodei issued a call to "slow down AI globally," and to everyone's surprise, rivals Musk and Altman both publicly endorsed the initiative. The three industry giants unanimously agreed to grant third-party access to "employee-level" evaluation rights and to implement coordinated deceleration measures. Altman went further, announcing that OpenAI will not IPO this year. The resignation of a researcher and a collective breakout of uncontrollable AI systems have ignited long-standing industry fears.
