HCLTech secures $1.14 billion European deal, achieving fastest new business growth in recent years

HCLTech, India's third largest IT software service exporter, announced on July 3 that it has successfully signed a major strategic cooperation agreement worth $1.14 billion. According to the agreement, the company will develop an artificial intelligence-driven operating model for a large European enterprise, fully digitally transform and manage the client's global digital chemical workplaces and corporate network.
This signing marks a major breakthrough for HCLTech in pioneering new business areas. The company emphasized that the project is a truly Net New Business, not a contract renewal or restructuring for an existing client. The initial contract period is five and a half years, with an optional five-year extension. This is also the largest single transaction recorded by the institution since its $2.1 billion cooperation with Verizon in August 2023.
Boosted by this positive news, the capital market reacted enthusiastically. In early trading on July 3, HCLTech's share price on the Indian stock market surged by as much as 6.3% against the trend, driving the Indian Nifty IT Index up by 2.7% overall.
Against the backdrop of global enterprises cutting traditional technology expenditure and shifting towards artificial intelligence, the securing of this multi-hundred-million-dollar order has attracted significant market attention. Industry analysts believe this demonstrates that mainstream European enterprises, amid macroeconomic uncertainty, are rapidly reallocating budgets from AI hardware procurement to the deployment of application-side solutions.
