Base plans to officially activate the B20 token standard on the mainnet on July 9.
Foresight News reports that Base plans to officially activate the B20 token standard on its mainnet at 2:00 AM (UTC+8) on July 9, East Asia time. Previously, Base had scheduled the activation of the B20 token format for 2:00 AM (UTC+8) on June 27, but it was postponed due to stability reasons.
B20 is Base's native token format, designed to enhance user experience through a faster, lower-cost, and more standardized settlement mechanism. It enables global financial assets to exist as programmable capital on Base and gain on-chain composability.
