Glonghui, July 8 — According to Bloomberg, sources revealed that peak demand for Amazon's latest $25 billion bond issuance reached $62 billion. This scale was about half the subscription demand attracted by its previous $37 billion transaction in March. This indicates that even for the highest-rated, ultra-large-scale cloud service providers, the market’s capacity to absorb bonds is not unlimited. As Amazon ramps up its AI infrastructure spending, this transaction will bring its total bond issuance in the past year to over $100 billion. A huge influx of AI-related bond issuances has entered the credit market. Data compiled by Bloomberg shows that Tuesday’s transaction brought the total amount of related global issuances this year to around $335 billion, more than double the level in 2025. The rapid increase in supply has raised concerns that investors may become fatigued, as Amazon’s bond issuance this time has led to weakness in outstanding technology bonds in the secondary market.
