Samsung regains top spot in the global smartphone market in the second quarter
According to Golden Ten Data on July 14, industry data released on Tuesday show that Samsung Electronics regained the top spot in the global smartphone market in the second quarter, surpassing its American competitor Apple. Market research firm Counterpoint Research reported that from April to June, Samsung accounted for a 24% share of global smartphone shipments, while Apple ranked second with a market share of 20%. The firm had previously noted that in the first quarter, Apple led the global smartphone market with a 21% share, ahead of Samsung's 20%. Counterpoint attributed Samsung's strong performance in the second quarter to the robust sales of the Galaxy S26 series, relatively modest price adjustments in key markets such as India and the Middle East, and active promotional activities.
