Glonghui, July 16|According to Reuters, Nvidia (NVDA.US) CEO Jensen Huang visited Tokyo, Japan, on July 15 to attend an event celebrating the 30th anniversary of the collaboration between Nvidia and the Japanese gaming giant SEGA. At the event, he met with former SEGA CEO Shoichiro Irimajiri and game designer Yu Suzuki, thanking them for the $5 million investment provided in 1995. This investment saved Nvidia from bankruptcy. At that time, Nvidia had just been founded and, due to a major misjudgment in its technological direction while developing a next-generation console graphics chip for SEGA, the project completely failed and the company was on the verge of collapse. At this critical moment, Shoichiro Irimajiri did not hold Nvidia accountable but was impressed by the team’s technological potential and decisively promoted SEGA to invest around $5 million. In addition, Jensen Huang will attend a Physical AI event hosted by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry today. The market is closely watching whether Nvidia will announce an alliance with Japan’s “Physical AI National Team” Noetra.
