Uber agrees to acquire German food delivery company Delivery Hero in a deal valuing the latter at $14.8 billion

Uber confirmed in an announcement on Thursday that it has proposed to acquire the majority of Delivery Hero's global business, covering 50 markets, at a price of 41.50 euros (47.60 US dollars) per share. As part of the transaction, Uber will acquire Prosus NV, Delivery Hero’s major shareholder listed in Amsterdam. The deal also includes investment firm SSW Partners spending approximately 1.6 billion US dollars to acquire business operations in 14 markets. SSW will seek buyers for these assets, which include subsidiaries located in Austria, Norway, Spain, and Sweden. (Bloomberg)
