1. Mining giant BHP’s Q4 2026 production report shows metallurgical coal output at 5.7 million tons, up 10% year-on-year; thermal coal output at 4.2 million tons, up 3% year-on-year, with a relatively strong performance in the coal business. 2. Iron ore output was 68.1 million tons, down 3% year-on-year, mainly due to scheduled maintenance at the Spence mine concentrator plant in Chile and adverse weather in South Australia. 3. Copper output reached 491,900 tons, down 5% year-on-year, mainly related to lower grades at the Escondida mine in Chile and maintenance activities. The company had previously revised its full-year copper production guidance downwards to reflect the current operating situation.

After stabilizing the yield, Samsung has shifted its engineering focus to power consumption and heat dissipation optimization, and is accelerating the development of the more powerful second-generation process, SF2P, aiming for mass production within the year. Strategically, Samsung plans to supply 2nm chips to Tesla next year, using this as a stepping stone to enter the large-scale tech client market.
