CNBC financial commentator warns: Semiconductor sector has turned into an irrational "emotional casino"

Glonghui, July 17 — CNBC financial commentator Jim Cramer has issued a stern warning about the semiconductor market, stating that although TSMC delivered a "strong and extraordinarily excellent" performance in the second quarter, its stock price has actually declined instead of rising. He believes this reflects a market trapped in an extremely uneasy and irrational "emotions casino" state. According to Cramer, the main reason for TSMC’s stock price diverging from fundamentals is SK Hynix’s major debut in the US market. With SK Hynix’s US listing, there was intense market sentiment volatility, and this "SK Hynix effect" reshaped investors’ perception of the entire chip industry. He further warns that the semiconductor sector has now become a "casino" driven by emotion. In this environment, rational financial data is often overshadowed by collective investor anxiety or bouts of short-term euphoria. The irrational downward pressure faced by TSMC is a direct result of such sharp fluctuations in market sentiment.
