Glonghui, July 17|TotalEnergies (TTE.US) rose 1.76% pre-market to $80.21. TotalEnergies stated that its oil trading business delivered strong performance in the second quarter due to significant market volatility triggered by the Middle East war, while its gas trading business was weak. Profits from oil trading are “expected to maintain the strong level of the first quarter,” and downstream business performance and cash flow are also expected to see “substantial growth.” The company’s optimistic outlook on its oil trading business is consistent with signals released by other international oil majors earlier. As Q2 results are announced later this month, large Western oil companies are expected to post impressive earnings. (Glonghui)
