On July 16, SBI Holdings completed the acquisition of a majority stake in a Singapore cryptocurrency exchange platform, bringing the exchange into the scope of its consolidated subsidiaries. The transaction was approved by the Monetary Authority of Singapore. An entity under the exchange holds a Major Payment Institution license in Singapore. SBI Holdings will leverage the exchange’s customer base, operational experience, and regional network to drive the development of crypto asset trading, stablecoins, tokenization, on-chain finance, and cross-border payments between Japan and Southeast Asian markets.
