IRGC: Two Tankers Explode and Catch Fire in the Strait of Hormuz
On July 18, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran issued a statement saying that two tankers exploded and caught fire while passing through a minefield in the southern part of the Strait of Hormuz. The statement emphasized that due to recent U.S. military actions, the Strait of Hormuz is now 'completely closed,' and oil and gas transportation cannot occur until the U.S. halts its military operations against Iran. Vessels are advised to avoid entering the minefield area. The statement did not specify the nationalities of the two tankers, nor the casualties or damages incurred.
