智通财经APP has learned that the annual report for 2025 released by Tesla's (TSLA.US) German manufacturing subsidiary confirms the U.S. electric vehicle giant plans to increase the weekly production capacity of its Grünheide plant to 7,500 vehicles in fiscal year 2026, which translates to an annual output of about 375,000 vehicles—an increase of approximately 20%. At the same time, Tesla will expand its battery business and create 3,500 new jobs. This expansion plan stands in stark contrast to the ongoing wave of layoffs in the German automotive industry, as traditional auto giants such as Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, and BMW are closing factories and laying off employees.
