a16z crypto: Monthly transaction volume of tokenized stocks reached $9.22 billion in June, an increase of over 170 times year-on-year
Foresight News reports that a16z crypto published an article stating that transfer activity of tokenized stocks is surging. In June this year, the monthly transfer volume of tokenized stocks reached $9.22 billion, a significant increase compared to $53 million in June last year, representing a growth of more than 170-fold. This metric measures all relevant on-chain activity, including trades, transfers between wallets, and deposits of collateral into DeFi protocols.
a16z crypto pointed out that, compared with the traditional stock market, which has monthly transaction volumes amounting to tens of trillions of dollars, the tokenized stock market is still relatively small in scale. However, an increasing number of issuers and platforms are launching tokenized stocks, and the sector is showing a steady growth trend.
