IMAX Q2 performance exceeds expectations, maintains full-year box office target of $1.4 billion

Glonghui July 24 — IMAX announced its second quarter results, with revenue of $103 million, up 12% year-on-year, surpassing analysts’ expectations of $94.7 million; adjusted earnings per share were $0.43, up 65% year-on-year, also exceeding analysts’ expectations of $0.28; and adjusted EBITDA came to $48 million, with a profit margin close to 47%. IMAX CEO and Director Gelfond described the film "Odyssey" as a transformational event, with IMAX achieving a box office of $52 million for its global premiere, which, on a comparable basis, is the highest global opening weekend in the company's history. The management remains very confident in the 2026 guidance, expecting to achieve a record-breaking $1.4 billion global box office.
