Rheinmetall breaks ground on major factory in Germany to expand ammunition production

Glonghui, July 24th|Germany's Rheinmetall has announced the start of construction on one of Europe's largest propellant production plants. As European countries accelerate increases in defense spending, the company is expanding ammunition production capacity in Germany. The new facility will be located in the Aschau am Inn industrial area in Bavaria, which is home to Nitrochemie Aschau, a Rheinmetall subsidiary. The facility is scheduled to begin production in 2027 and is expected to reach full capacity in 2028.
