This long-term collaboration will not only enhance the startup’s access to computing power but also help Nvidia fend off competitors. Nvidia has made a “substantial” investment, though the specific terms of the deal remain unclear. Under the agreement, Sutskever’s Safe Superintelligence will gain extensive access to Nvidia’s flagship GPU hardware—on a scale sufficient to increase the company’s computing resources by “an order of magnitude.” According to informed sources, the company had previously relied primarily on Google’s TPU chips.
