Hartalega's 1Q Earnings Likely Boosted by Higher Selling Prices -- Market Talk
Dow Jones2026/07/28 01:090109 GMT - Hartalega's fiscal 1Q earnings likely benefited from higher average selling prices, Public Investment Bank analyst Hailey Chung says in a note. However, upside from renewed Middle East tensions was likely more limited than during the March supply disruption. Customers are entering the latest episode with sufficient inventory and a more disciplined purchasing approach, reducing the potential of panic buying, she reckons. Chung expects the current unchanged 10% U.S. tariff on Malaysian glove exports to provide some stability, while a planned natural gas tariff increase from October could raise production costs if they can't be fully passed on to customers. Public IB upgrades Hartalega to neutral from underperform after a recent share-price correction, but keeps its target price at 0.98 ringgit. Shares are unchanged at 0.97 ringgit.
