ETHGas stages 12% comeback as volume explodes 218% – Can GWEI clear $0.032?

ETHGas [GWEI] may finally be finding its footing after weeks of relentless selling.

The token’s price has climbed 12% over the past 24 hours, marking its strongest recovery since breaking below its previous all-time low on the 21st of July.

While one day’s rally does not confirm a trend reversal, improving activity across both the Spot and derivatives markets suggests buyers are beginning to return.

Notably, the rebound is being backed by a sharp increase in market participation.

GWEI traders are returning to action

At the time of writing, the network’s trading volume had doubled over the last day, reaching $13.15 million. It had recorded a 218% daily surge.

The surge indicates renewed interest after an extended period of subdued activity. From the past similar scenarios, higher trading volume often adds credibility to price moves because it shows more market participants are supporting the direction of the trend.

The same could come into play for GWEI.

The derivatives market is also becoming more active.

GWEI’s Open Interest has posted a notable increase alongside the price recovery while Funding Rates have remained above 0 for the last week.

Cumulatively, the two metrics suggest traders are opening fresh long positions instead of simply covering shorts. That does not guarantee the rally will continue, but it points to improving sentiment after weeks of bearish pressure.

The next test sits at $0.032

Technicals are beginning to improve.

After spending weeks under heavy selling pressure, GWEI has started building higher intraday lows as buyers attempt to stabilize the market.

Momentum indicators are gradually shifting in favor of the bulls, though the broader trend has yet to fully reverse. The next level to watch is $0.032, where previous selling pressure created a notable resistance zone.

A decisive move above that level would strengthen the recovery attempts and could encourage additional buyers to enter the market. However, failure to clear it, may invite another round of profit-taking after the recent bounce.

As it stands, the market is showing early signs of recovery rather than a confirmed breakout.

All in all, stronger trading volume, rising Open Interest and improving Funding Rates all suggest confidence is returning. Whether that optimism translates into a sustained rally will depend on whether buyers can carry the momentum through the next resistance zone.

Final Summary

  • GWEI has rebounded 12% over the past 24 hours, while trading volume doubles to $13.15 million.
  • Rising Open Interest and positive Funding Rates suggest derivatives traders are turning more optimistic, with $0.032 emerging as the next key resistance level.
