Musk predicts that SpaceX's consumption of Terafab AI computing power will be three times that of Tesla

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, stated that the new Terafab semiconductor manufacturing plant in Grimes County, Texas will simultaneously serve Tesla's “Optimus” robot and SpaceX's “AI spacecraft.”
Musk replied to this post, saying: “My rough estimate is that about 25% of the AI computing power produced by Terafab will be supplied to Tesla Optimus humanoid robot, and about 75% will go to the AI spacecraft.” Notably, Terafab’s goal is to achieve an annual AI computing capacity of 1 terawatt when at full scale.
The user remarked that this factory will create more than 3,000 jobs in Texas. Musk replied: “By the way, 3,000 jobs is just the scale of the first phase — there are a total of ten phases in the entire project.”
He also explained why he chose to build the factory in Texas instead of California. California was formerly the headquarters of Tesla, and its Fremont plant is still located there; the “Optimus” humanoid robot is currently produced at that plant.
Musk stated: “In California, large new projects are actually illegal.” However, he did not provide further details to support this claim.

Korean media: Delivery times for key semiconductor equipment components have more than doubled
According to reports, there is a severe shortage of core components for semiconductor equipment in South Korea. Delivery cycles have generally doubled, and waiting times for some Japanese-made parts are as long as 40 months, with components unavailable even at a premium price. Japanese suppliers are cautious about expanding production capacity, resulting in serious delays that have impacted downstream businesses. Major construction projects like Samsung’s Pyeongtaek and SK Hynix’s Yongin face the risk of postponement, with AI chip expansion plans running into a “hard wall” in the supply chain.
