According to Zhitong Finance APP, on Friday, non-opioid pain medication developer Latigo Biotherapeutics (LTGO.US) debuted on the US stock market, and as of press time, the stock was up more than 14%, trading at $20.53. Latigo is dedicated to developing non-opioid painkillers targeting the Nav1.8 sodium channel. Its core candidate drug, LTG-001, is an oral Nav1.8 inhibitor mainly used for the treatment of moderate to severe acute pain, including postoperative pain. This medication aims to provide pain relief comparable to opioids while avoiding the risk of addiction. Nav1.8 is mainly expressed in peripheral pain-sensing neurons, and its inhibitors do not act on the central nervous system, thus do not cause addiction.
