In the news, Intel announced it will issue $15 billion worth of common stock, leveraging the surge in market investment interest in AI data center construction and the renewed optimism for its comprehensive chip business combining “data center CPU + advanced foundry processes + advanced packaging.”
In a statement, Intel said the funds raised will be used for general corporate purposes. The company stated: “Strong progress in emerging domains such as physical AI, specialized silicon chips, advanced packaging, and external wafer foundry services has brought Intel significant, historic growth opportunities.” “This issuance aims to further enhance Intel’s ability to seize future robust growth opportunities while maintaining a strong balance sheet and continuing its important commitment to investment grade credit rating.”
