Metaplanet partners with Super League to launch US Bitcoin treasury platform Superplanet
Reuters2026/08/18 12:33- Super League struck a definitive agreement with Metaplanet for a strategic investment to create a Nasdaq-listed U.S. bitcoin treasury platform.
- Metaplanet’s U.S. unit will contribute 2,100 bitcoin valued at about USD 132.1 million, also USD 2.5 million cash.
- Consideration includes 44,859,400 shares priced at USD 3, also preferred stock, also 10-year warrants for up to 381,000,000 shares.
- Super League will be renamed Superplanet with ticker SUPA; Metaplanet expected to own about 95.7% of common stock post-close.
- Transaction expected to close in Q4 2026, subject to stockholder approval, Nasdaq filings, regulatory procedures in the U.S. and Japan.
