Audiera [BEAT] shed over 21% in the past day as market sentiment continued to favor the bears. The drop forced its price to $0.26. BEAT last traded at this level on the 7th of March.

That came just before the asset witnessed a massive price boom.

However, the reason behind the latest decline remained unclear. Perpetual market positioning showed that some traders still expected a near-term rebound.

Why did Audiera’s price crash?

Data suggested that the decline may have resulted from Capital Outflows, which Capital Inflows had yet to match.

CoinGlass data showed that $176.56 million left BEAT’s perpetual market during the past 24 hours. Meanwhile, $170.29 million flowed in. That left a Net Outflow of $6.27 million at the time of writing.

Interestingly, the outflow had been building for several days instead of emerging as a one-time event.

Over the past 15 days, Perpetual Netflow reached -$55.91 million. This represented capital that had moved out of the market.

Sustained Capital Outflows can shock prices, especially when Capital Inflows consistently fall behind.

Are BEAT traders still bullish?

Despite the serious outflow, the perpetual market did not support an entirely bearish narrative.

CoinGlass data showed that the Funding Rate remained positive and edged higher despite the outflow. The Funding Rate stood at 0.0386%. A positive and rising reading suggested that longs remained more aggressive than shorts.

Traders also added more capital to their positions. Open Interest grew by over 10% during the past day. This increase brought total Open Interest to approximately $48.13 million.

Combined with the positive Funding Rate, the rise suggested that long-biased positioning expanded despite BEAT’s decline. This dynamic could support a near-term price rebound.

Are Spot traders buying BEAT?

Spot traders continued accumulating BEAT despite the sharp price decline.

The accumulation lasted for two consecutive days. Spot Inflows reached $908,810 on the 17th of August. Another $393,070 entered at the latest reading on the 18th of August.

Buying during a sharp decline suggested that Spot traders may have viewed the lower price as an opportunity.

This accumulation could support a near-term rebound.

Open Interest increased while the Funding Rate remained positive. At the same time, Spot traders continued accumulating BEAT. Together, these conditions could help BEAT recover from its latest decline.

Final Summary

  • Audiera fell over 21% and returned to the $0.26 price level. BEAT recorded a $6.27 million Net Outflow from its perpetual market.
  • Perpetual Netflow reached -$55.91 million over 15 days.

Lombard Global Macro Research pointed out that GPIF is currently or will soon accelerate the repatriation of funds into Japanese domestic bonds. This structural capital inflow will drive the USD/JPY below 150 and indicates a fair value range between 130 and 140. Furthermore, the risk of passive deleveraging in global carry trades has not yet been fully priced in by the market. Banco Santander noted that, due to the increased attractiveness of domestic Japanese assets under the current policy framework, GPIF may reduce its holdings of US Treasuries by up to $62 billion.
