  1. The Hungarian forint remained stable against the euro at around 362.1 on Monday, as the market awaits the Hungarian central bank's interest rate decision this Tuesday. Institutions expect the central bank to cut rates again by about 25 basis points to around 5.5%, as the decline in inflation provides room for an easing cycle.
  2. Brokerage agencies pointed out that after the euro/forint exchange rate fell below the 364 support level last Friday, it continued to drop in inactive trading. This level now constitutes short-term resistance, with the next significant support level around 360.5.
  3. The Polish zloty edged down by about 0.1% against the euro to approximately 4.315. Fitch last Friday confirmed Poland’s sovereign rating at "A-" with a negative outlook, citing domestic economic resilience and strong external financial conditions, but a lack of robust fiscal consolidation measures.
  4. Poland’s retail sales in July were dragged down by decreased fuel purchases, rising less than expected. Central bank officials stated that the economy has not generated inflationary pressure, and August’s consumer price growth might be slightly lower than July, benefiting from the government’s reinstatement of fuel cost control measures in the last two weeks of August.
  5. The Czech koruna and Romanian leu traded narrowly against the euro. Commerzbank pointed out that the Czech central bank is the only central bank in the region likely to raise rates in the coming months, while the central banks of Poland and Hungary clearly maintain a dovish stance.
