Reuters2026/08/24 11:32- South Pacific Metals reported step-out drilling that extended mineralized strike at Megabe to more than 300 meters at its Osena project in Papua New Guinea.
- All five holes intersected mineralized structures; ONED26-011 returned 5.13 m at 1.79 g/t AuEq from 313.27 m, including 3.01 m at 2.66 g/t AuEq.
- Results reinforced an intermediate-sulfidation epithermal vein model; the structures remain open along strike in both directions and at depth.
- Drilling focus is shifting to deeper, higher-grade targets below ONED26-009, which previously returned 5 m at 12.84 g/t AuEq.
- Both rigs also advanced drilling at Ontenu Central to test newly mapped trends; assay results are pending.
