Ovintiv Provides Update on Additions to Montney, Permian Inventory

06:28 AM EDT, 08/27/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Ovintiv (OVV.TO) said it has entered into over 60 transactions year to date under its 2026 ground game acquisition program, the company said Wednesday. The deals will result in the addition of about 41,000 net acres of land across Ovintiv's Montney and Permian assets for $460 million and add 240 net 10,000-foot equivalent well locations to its drilling inventory. Ovintiv is acquiring about 21,000 net acres of land and 120 well locations in the Permian for about $230 million and about 20,000 net acres of land and 120 well locations in the Montney for about $230 million. The remaining transactions are scheduled to close before the end of the year.
