SK Telecom said that in connection with the spinoff, it has secured investments from funds managed by KKR (KKR) and the IMM Investment-Stonebridge consortium. The investors will provide a total equity capital of 3.08 trillion South Korean won ($2.23 billion), giving KKR a 29% stake and the IMM consortium a 20% interest, SK Telecom said. SK Telecom will retain management control with a 51% stake, the company said. The new entity will oversee eight existing facilities while building out data capacity to 318 megawatts, with the transaction expected to close in Q1 of next year, SK Telecom said.
