Zcash ($ZEC) extended its rally above $1,000 on Friday, supported by strong bullish momentum and growing demand for the privacy-focused cryptocurrency.

Institutional interest remains firm, with Grayscale’s $ZEC-focused exchange-traded fund reaching a record high.

Meanwhile, the amount of $ZEC held in shielded pools has climbed to 4.86 million tokens, indicating increased use of the network’s privacy features.

Zcash demand strengthens as ETF reaches record high

Zcash is among the best-performing cryptocurrencies of 2026, gaining approximately 95% since the beginning of the year. The rally builds on an advance of more than 800% in 2025.

Grayscale’s Zcash ETF (ZCSH) has risen 25% since listing on the New York Stock Exchange’s NYSE Arca platform on August 25.

The fund reached a record pre-market price of $80.17 on Friday, highlighting sustained institutional demand for $ZEC exposure.

Interest in Zcash’s privacy technology is also increasing. The network’s total shielded supply has reached 4.86 million $ZEC, equivalent to 28.76% of the cryptocurrency’s total supply.

Approximately 3.86 million of those tokens are held in the Ironwood Pool. The pool is Zcash’s most secure shielded environment and features independent audits alongside quantum-recoverable note formats.

Zcash’s privacy infrastructure could receive another boost from improving hardware-wallet support.

Vizor Wallet recently completed a shielded transaction signed directly on a Ledger hardware wallet, suggesting that full Ledger integration for private Zcash transactions is under development.

Zcash price approaches next resistance at $1,058

The $ZEC/USD 4-hour chart is extremely bullish as Zcash is trading above $1,000 on Friday after reaching its highest level in nine years.

The move followed a breakout above the January 2018 peak of $900, strengthening the cryptocurrency’s near-term bullish structure.

Despite the advance, $ZEC remains far below the roughly $30,000 price recorded shortly after its initial listing.

That early valuation was influenced by intense market speculation and unusually limited token supply.

On the four-hour chart, $ZEC is approaching the 127.2% Fibonacci extension of the move from $465 to $888, located at $1,058.

A decisive close above this resistance could extend the rally toward the 161.8% Fibonacci extension at $1,322.

The rising exponential moving averages reinforce the bullish outlook. The 50-period EMA stands near $845, while the 100- and 200-period EMAs are positioned around $780 and $689, respectively.

Momentum indicators also favor buyers. The Moving Average Convergence Divergence indicator continues to rise above its signal line in positive territory, suggesting that bullish pressure remains intact.

However, the Relative Strength Index is hovering near 76, firmly within overbought territory.

This reading signals strong momentum but also increases the possibility of a short-term pullback or consolidation.

If Zcash fails to clear $1,058, the recently reclaimed $888 level could provide initial support.

Below that, sellers may target the 50-period EMA at approximately $845. The next major support area sits around $773, corresponding with the 78.6% Fibonacci retracement level.

As long as $ZEC remains above these support zones, its broader bullish structure is likely to remain intact. A confirmed break above $1,058 would strengthen the case for an advance toward $1,322.

Once the Federal Reserve starts the rate hike cycle, is "three consecutive hikes" a reasonable expectation?

BMO expects consecutive rate hikes in October and December, with a total of three increases potentially wiping out all rate cut gains for 2025. Vanguard believes "three consecutive hikes" is a reasonable starting point, but the actual number could be as high as six. There are historical exceptions: in 1997, the Federal Reserve raised rates only once and took no further action for the following 18 months. Meanwhile, trillion-dollar debt financing by AI giants, private credit exposure in the insurance industry, and the 10-year U.S. Treasury yield approaching 5% are the most dangerous pressure points in this rate hike cycle.

Goldman Sachs Also Changes Its Tune: The Fed Will Raise Interest Rates Next Week!

Goldman Sachs has shifted from predicting a rate hold to betting on a 25 basis point hike next week, stating that this change is not due to particularly bad inflation data—the August CPI was not perfect, but it wasn’t alarming either. The real key is that hawkish comments from Waller have already shaped market expectations: "If the inflation data isn’t perfect, there will be a rate hike." If the Federal Reserve backs down now, its credibility will suffer a serious blow and long-term interest rates could react sharply and immediately.
