Saudi Arabia's Delta Energy Signs Multiple Oil and Gas Cooperation Agreements with Afghanistan, Including Exploration, Development, and Construction of a Long Pipeline of About 700 Kilometers

(1) Saudi Arabia’s Delta Energy Group has signed multiple oil and gas cooperation agreements with the Afghan Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, covering oil and gas exploration in an area of approximately 23,300 square kilometers in western Afghanistan, research on the utilization of Herat's natural gas, and the construction of natural gas pipelines. (2) Delta Energy will carry out geological and geophysical exploration, seismic surveys, exploratory drilling, and reservoir evaluation in the Kushk-Tirpul block of Herat Province, and will study the feasibility of supplying gas to areas such as the Herat Industrial Park and Herat City. (3) Both parties will also research the construction of a natural gas pipeline approximately 700 kilometers in length to connect Herat with areas near Kandahar. Delta Energy estimates the potential investment in this pipeline could reach around $10 billion over the next decade.
