David Schwartz Drops Fresh XRP Price Bombshell That Stuns XRP Army
Ripple CTO Emeritus David Schwartz just stated publicly that XRP is more likely to flip Bitcoin through its own price surge than through Bitcoin’s decline.
MC Solar Wind shared the clip on X, drawing the attention of the XRP army. He summarized Schwartz’s position as: “It is more likely that XRP flips Bitcoin due to a surge in price of XRP than the collapse of Bitcoin.”
The statement came during an X Space hosted by ILLY (@Illyriannft). ILLY opened by sharing his personal belief that XRP will one day surpass Bitcoin by market cap. Schwartz responded by questioning the mechanism behind any such outcome. He asked whether it would come from XRP’s rise or Bitcoin’s collapse.
Then he answered his own question. “I honestly have to say, I think XRP surging is probably more likely than not.”
Confidence From the Inside
That statement carries specific significance. Schwartz is not a retail investor speculating from the outside. He is one of the designers of the XRP Ledger. His assessment reflects conviction rooted in his understanding of the technology itself.
ILLY outlined several possible scenarios during the Space. He suggested Bitcoin could decline while XRP rises, or XRP could surge independently and close the market cap gap. He expressed certainty about the eventual outcome regardless of which path plays out.
Schwartz has previously explained that XRP cannot remain at low prices. He did not give a timeline or target, but his assessment put XRP surging ahead of Bitcoin as the more likely route to a market cap overtake.
How the Community Responded
Reactions came in quickly. One commenter described the moment as significant, noting that Ripple’s former CTO was publicly engaging with whether XRP can flip Bitcoin. He said Schwartz’s signals were clear.
Another commenter took a more emphatic position. He stated that Schwartz had essentially confirmed what the XRP community has long believed: that XRP would surpass Bitcoin through its own price surge rather than through Bitcoin’s failure. A third commenter expressed surprise that Schwartz stated his view so openly.
The Weight of the Source
Schwartz helped build the system he is now publicly backing. For years he served as Ripple’s Chief Technology Officer and contributed directly to the architecture of the XRP Ledger. His willingness to state, on a live public Space, that XRP surging past Bitcoin is the more probable scenario is notable precisely because of who he is.
