Chemours, DuPont, Corteva settle North Carolina PFAS lawsuits for USD 455 million
Reuters2026/09/10 10:48- Chemours, DuPont, Corteva reached a settlement with North Carolina to resolve PFAS-related lawsuits tied to Fayetteville Works discharges.
- Deal also covers state claims of PFAS contamination unrelated to the site, including from aqueous film forming foam use.
- Total settlement payments set at USD 455 million over 15 years, with Chemours responsible for 50% under the companies’ 2021 MOU.
- Chemours expects about USD 50 million of payments over the next 12 months; its share is about USD 180 million on an NPV basis.
- All future MOU escrow contributions treated as satisfied, including Chemours’ USD 50 million contribution otherwise due in September 2026.
