Market Chatter: Nvidia GPU Servers Bought by Latham & Watkins to Fine-Tune AI Models

MT newswireMT newswire2026/09/10 14:49
10:49 AM EDT, 09/10/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Nvidia (NVDA) GPU servers were purchased by Latham & Watkins, the second-largest US law firm by revenue, to fine-tune open-weight artificial intelligence models for its own use, the Financial Times reported Thursday. Setting up its own AI servers allows the law firm to keep its clients' sensitive data entirely within its own systems, according to the report. Latham is the first public example of a big law firm purchasing its own AI hardware and fine-tuning its own models, with others opting to subscribe to AI software services and cloud infrastructure, the report said. Latham declined to comment beyond saying the report was "accurate," while Nvidia did not immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
