Recently, both Brent crude oil futures and WTI crude oil futures once broke through the $100-per-barrel mark, and the main domestic crude oil futures contract price also surpassed 800 yuan per barrel.
Data shows that as of September 11, since the beginning of September, the cumulative gains of the main continuous contracts for Brent crude oil futures and WTI crude oil futures have both exceeded 17%.
According to industry insiders, this round of international oil price increases is not just a short-term market speculation on geopolitical risks. With the spillover of the US-Iran conflict, disruptions in shipping routes, and the continued decline in global crude oil inventories, market attention is gradually shifting from emotional premium to the supply gap.
Against the backdrop of increased uncertainty on the supply side, international oil prices may remain relatively firm in the short term.
However, the transmission of high oil prices to inflation and central bank policies is becoming evident. If signs of weakening demand or a phased easing of geopolitical tensions appear, price volatility may intensify. Attention should continue to be paid to inventory changes and the actual recovery of shipping routes going forward.
