  1. Frontier labs call for a slowdown
Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei published a weekend essay urging labs to pace frontier-model capability gains. Altman and Musk publicly backed the stance, and the market priced a potential downshift in data-center and chip capex. The PHLX Semiconductor Index fell 5.86% on Monday; NVDA dropped about 3.4%, MU, INTC and MRVL fell 5%–8%, and TSM ADR declined 3.52%.
🎯 Beneficiaries: NVDA, MU, MRVL; Key catalyst: After the SOX washout, Tuesday premarket will reprice whether “slowdown” actually means order cuts.
  2. Jensen Huang takes Trump’s call at All-In
Huang took a live call from President Trump on stage at the All-In Summit in Los Angeles and put it on speaker. Trump called AI doomerism a “hoax” and said data centers make states and people wealthy. Huang replied that a slowdown “won’t happen” and that the U.S. must win the AI race.
🎯 Beneficiaries: NVDA, AVGO; Key catalyst: White House + NVDA counter-narrative vs. the weekend scare; Tuesday’s open is the first test.
  3. Cyber names rally against the tape
The same story flipped capital into “larger threat surface = bigger security budgets.” CRWD closed up about 14%, PANW about 13%, with ZS also sharply higher. CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz argued labs will keep advancing and that cyber’s job is to make that safer.
🎯 Beneficiaries: CRWD, PANW, ZS; Key catalyst: The AI-agent loss-of-control narrative maps directly onto enterprise security spend; short-term flows are still incoming.
  4. Anthropic × RUM $13.7B compute deal
The Information identified Anthropic as the customer behind RUM’s (formerly Rumble) previously disclosed six-year, $13.7B GPU-services contract, tied to a data center under construction in Maysville, Georgia, plus warrants on about 50.8 million shares at $0.01. RUM jumped more than 10%.
🎯 Beneficiaries: RUM, NVDA; Key catalyst: Named customer lifts the neo-cloud compute premium; financing and delivery still need confirmation.
  5. 10-year yield tags 5% + FOMC hike window
The 10-year Treasury yield briefly broke 5% intraday, a first since 2023. CME FedWatch put the odds of a 25bp hike at Wednesday’s FOMC near 90%+. Middle East pipeline and Gulf tensions pushed oil higher, with WTI back above $100.
🎯 Beneficiaries: XOM, CVX; Key catalyst: Wednesday’s decision and dot plot will reprice growth multiples; energy benefits from the oil premium.

Trading note: Flows rotated from chips/optical into cyber and software. NVDA and SOX volume will decide how much Tuesday can bounce. This week’s main risk is Wednesday’s FOMC — keep growth exposure tight and trade the event window.
