Zcash (ZEC) is rapidly narrowing the gap with Hyperliquid as their market capitalizations approach parity. ZEC’s market capitalization stands at roughly $19.3 billion, only about $570 million—less than 3 percent—behind Hyperliquid, which currently sits at $19.87 billion. If Hyperliquid’s valuation remains steady, ZEC would surpass it as the ninth-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization once its price breaks between $1,178 and $1,180.

ZEC’s market dynamics and recent price action
At present, ZEC trades at around $1,144, benefitting from a robust 24-hour trading volume exceeding $1.07 billion. Over the past week, ZEC has gained approximately 1.15 percent even as Hyperliquid’s HYPE token declined by more than 6 percent. This price action has allowed ZEC to close the capitalization gap significantly, drawing higher interest from traders and investors.
ZEC’s rally began in August, when its price hovered near $500. It then climbed to $600, $800, and briefly touched $1,000. The bullish surge peaked at $1,280 before entering a volatile consolidation phase. Despite several pullbacks, ZEC has managed to maintain levels above $1,000, which has reinforced bullish sentiment in the market.
ZEC traded at around $500 as recently as August before soaring to $1,000 and peaking at $1,280. The current rally has allowed the cryptocurrency to remain above the key $1,000 mark despite multiple corrections.
Currently, ZEC is trading well above its major moving averages, helping sustain its upward trend. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) has cooled to the upper 50s after reaching overbought conditions, indicating that some of the aggressive momentum has dissipated and the market is stabilizing. Traders are keeping a close eye on the next resistance zone, which lies between $1,160 and $1,200.
Potential outlook and risk factors
If Hyperliquid maintains its present valuation and ZEC succeeds in breaking above the $1,160–$1,200 band, the previous highs of $1,240 to $1,280 could quickly become relevant again. A decisive move above this area would likely propel Zcash into the top 9 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization.
However, after such a sharp rally, analysts are also signaling caution. ZEC faces the risk of a correction if the price falls below $1,050 to $1,080, which could result in a retreat toward the psychologically important $1,000 support level. For the time being, though, ZEC is positioned within reach of overtaking Hyperliquid with only a modest upward move.
Zcash was launched as a privacy-focused cryptocurrency designed to offer enhanced transaction anonymity compared to most blockchain platforms. Hyperliquid, meanwhile, is recognized for its role as a decentralized exchange platform facilitating derivatives trading and offering advanced liquidity solutions to digital asset traders.
