Evercore ISI reaffirms “Outperform” rating on Netflix (NFLX.US), optimistic about live sports broadcasts and short videos as blockbuster growth engines
Evercore ISI has raised the price target for the streaming platform Netflix (NFLX.US) from $100 to $110 and reiterated its "outperform" rating.
According to Jinse Finance, Evercore ISI has raised its price target for the streaming platform Netflix (NFLX.US) from $100 to $110, and reiterated its "outperform" rating. The reason is improved trends shown by its surveys in the US and Japan, as well as opportunities brought by live events and short-video content.
The new target price implies about a 42% upside compared to the latest closing price of the stock.
Analyst Kutgun Maral stated that Netflix’s penetration rate has reached a multi-year high of 63% in the United States and a record 22% in Japan. The intention to unsubscribe in both markets has improved, but user satisfaction in the US market remains a concern.
The brokerage emphasized that live events are a potential catalyst for subscriber growth. In Japan, 45% of surveyed new subscribers indicated they registered through Netflix’s World Baseball Classic promotional campaign; meanwhile, the proportion of users who have watched live events increased from 42% in March to 60% in September.
Evercore also mentioned Netflix Clips — its short-video feed, with 46% of Japanese respondents and 38% of American respondents indicating they have browsed this function.
The analysts stated that live events and short-video content help to drive user engagement and retention, while ad-supported packages continue to attract both new and returning subscribers.
Evercore considers Netflix a sustainable 20% per-share earnings growth stock, and stated that its catalyst path is more likely to emerge in 2027 rather than 2026.
