European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Drop in Friday Trading

11:09 AM EDT, 09/18/2026 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were heading lower late Friday morning, declining 0.89% to 1,913.67 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index, which is down 1% for the week so far. From continental Europe, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Cellectis (CLLS) and biotech firm Evaxion (EVAX), which advanced 4.8% and 1.7% respectively. They were followed by petroleum refiner Equinor (EQNR) and internet browser company Opera (OPRA), which were up 0.5% and 0.4% respectively. The decliners from continental Europe were led by accommodations booking site trivago (TRVG) and lender Banco Santander (SAN), which shed 6.3% and 3% respectively. They were followed by biotech firm BioNTech (BNTX) and biopharmaceutical company DBV Technologies (DBVT), which lost 2.7% and 2.3% respectively. The gainers from the UK were led by biopharmaceutical companies Mereo BioPharma Group (MREO) and NuCana (NCNA), which rose 5% and 0.8% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Bicycle Therapeutics (BCYC) and communications company WPP (WPP), which were up 0.5% and 0.3% respectively. The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical company Akari Therapeutics (AKTX) and telecommunications operator Vodafone Group (VOD), which fell 4% and 3.4% respectively. They were followed by biotech firm Trinity Biotech (TRIB) and pharmaceutical company GSK (GSK), which were down 3% each respectively.
