King Copper Expands Colquemayo Project in Peru

10:07 AM EDT, 09/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- King Copper Discovery (KCP.V) subsidiary Aurora Copper Peru has added through staking eight additional concessions to expand its Colquemayo copper project in Peru. The acquisition increased King Copper's land position to 13,770 hectares from 6,600 hectares previously, the company said Monday. The additional concessions include historic data showing geochemistry anomalies for gold, copper and molybdenum, according to King Copper. "Securing additional mineral concessions surrounding the core project area was the natural next step that strengthens our position across the district, enhancing the long-term opportunity at Colquemayo," Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Richards said.
