Sector Update: Consumer

03:20 PM EDT, 09/25/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks rose late Friday afternoon with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) increasing 0.3% and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) adding 0.2%. In corporate news, Ford (F) halted production of its F-150 pickup truck from Sept. 24 to 29 at the Dearborn Truck Plant near Detroit, Michigan, Reuters reported, citing a company memo. The company's Kansas City Assembly Plant, which also produces the best-selling F-Series trucks, canceled some shifts this week due to the same issue affecting Dearborn, a supply problem, sources told Reuters. Ford shares were up 1%.
