Higher-for-longer rate expectations remain the dominant macro theme. Following the Federal Reserve’s 25-basis-point September increase, the federal-funds target range stands at 3.75%–4.00%. Oil reversed part of Friday’s decline. WTI settled 2.29% lower on Friday as traders reacted to reports of progress in US-Iran contacts. After the US rejected part of Iran’s weekend proposal, Brent rebounded 1.6% to $106.00 and WTI gained 1.1% to $93.47 in early Monday trading.
