MT newswireMT newswire2026/09/28 07:26
03:26 AM EDT, 09/28/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Evercore (EVR) has been hired to advise Saudi Aramco on a restructuring that could create a standalone gas division and potentially lead to a future listing of the unit, Bloomberg reported Saturday, citing unnamed people familiar with the matter. The gas business could attract new investment or be partly listed at a valuation of more than $100 billion, sources told Bloomberg. The plans remain under discussion and could change, according to the report. Boston Consulting Group is also advising Aramco on the plan, known as Project Gamma, the report added. Aramco declined to comment, while Evercore did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment. (Market Chatter news is derived from conversations with market professionals globally. Report: US-Iran conflict disrupts OPEC+ production increase schedule, capacity review postponed to mid-November

According to media reports, the capacity review work by OPEC+ has been delayed. Originally scheduled to be completed by the end of September 2026, it has now been postponed to mid-November. This theoretically still allows OPEC+ to discuss the related results at the plenary meeting in late November. The independent capacity assessment results will directly affect the production caps approved for each member country, and some member countries have already shown significant disagreements regarding quotas, putting pressure on the alliance’s stability.
